FUKT #24 – The City Issue

For our upcoming issue, we are looking for drawings that approach the city in all its forms: as a place, a system, a social structure, an organism, a memory or an idea. It might appear through maps, public space, housing, transport, migration, displacement, urban nature, borders, crowds, solitude or everyday life. It may be real, remembered, imagined, invented or yet to come.
Cities are never fixed. They are constantly built, transformed, expanded, neglected and remade. Shaped by architecture and infrastructure as much as by movement, politics, ecology and the people who inhabit them, they carry traces of the past while continually making room for possible futures.
Cities bring different lives into proximity. People meet, pass one another, share spaces, remain strangers or build communities. Neighbourhoods evolve, buildings disappear and new structures emerge. The visible city is only one layer of a larger network of relationships, histories and invisible systems.
We welcome a broad range of approaches and interpretations. Drawing can observe, document, analyse, question, speculate or reinvent the urban world. It can focus on the visible fabric of the city or reveal the forces, tensions and hidden structures that shape it.
SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Please submit one PDF containing:
• 5 to 10 images from one project or body of your drawing work relating to our theme „city"
• Your name and where you are based
• A short biography
• A short text about the submitted work, project or practice.
• A link to your website, Instagram or similar, if applicable
The PDF must not exceed 10 MB.
