OPEN CALL

FUKT #24 – The City Issue

Deadline September 15, 2026

For our upcoming issue, we are looking for drawings that start with the city. That can mean the city as a physical place or something more abstract, it can be a system, a social structure or an idea. We are interested in all perspectives on the city: maps, public space, housing, transport, migration, displacement, urban nature, borders, crowds, utopia, community and solitude. And, of course, all the things we have not mentioned here!

Cities change all the time. They grow, shrink, get rebuilt, neglected or even destroyed. Architecture and infrastructure hold a city up, but a city is just as much the people who live and work there. The same neighbourhood can mean completely different things to the people who share it.

We are interested in many different ways of drawing the city. Drawing can look closely at what is there, follow changes over time, map connections, tell stories or imagine something that does not yet exist. It can deal with a single building or street, or with the larger structures and relationships that hold a city together.
